Going back to 1991, The Leong family saw an opportunity in a large building on the iconic 17th ave strip. To most people, the space was viewed as a never-ending project, but for the Leung’s, this building was destined to be their legacy.
The parents, Ming and Sue, worked hard at reviving the space and worked in the kitchen to help with prep. Both sons, Wayne and Kent, spent their time creating the concept, overseeing the facilities, and the operational structure.
After hard work, sweat equity, and a lot of love, the site transformed into the original trendy Melrose Calgarians know and love—a place to create memories, meet friends, and pull up a seat.
