Test Entry copy How was it that the Melrose Café and Bar, affectionately known as the Heart of the Red Mile became such a landmark in Calgary’s history? Well it didn’t pop out of thin air; in fact like most businesses in the hospitality industry we faced our fair share of ups and downs. In 2004, the Flames battled their way to the Stanley Cup and a sense of city pride swept through Calgarians and the Red Mile was born. After the Flames played people would gravitate from the Saddledome and parade the streets of 17th Ave.
